Matthew Powers
The Way to Get Out - 2024

Bass / Keys

I played both bass and synths for these two tracks by Matthew Powers out of Illinois. I was able to record my tracks remotely out of an apartment in DC using various pedals, Virtual Cabinets, and Pro Tools. After tweaking and re-recording, tracks were sent off to be Mixed and Mastered by the ultra-talented Nick Stetina.

Be sure to listen on Spotify if possible for full tracks and to support the artist!

Below are a few tracks I put together for different freelance projects. They've been used in social media ads, YouTube videos, online presentations, and other digital content.

Most of these tracks are the result of me justifying new music gear purchases by actually using them for a change. Playing with gear and making music is one of my favorite things to do—and probably my favorite excuse for spending money.

Madame Ruby
Never Part - 2015

Guitar

Once upon a time, I was in a cool rock band. Madame Ruby was the culmination of a few suburban high schoolers who just wanted to crank up some amps and eat pizza. We played a few gigs in and around Chicago, including The Metro, Subterranean, and, of course, some buddies’ basements.
